Just give them some water and a box of cornstarch. You'll get at least one hour of experimentation and love that they are not watching T.V.!
The boys loved this and while James, at first didn't want to touch the stuff, after a while of watching his brother's enjoy playing with it, he got into it just as much as they did.

Oobleck. We love oobleck here. The best part is that when it gets all over their clothes once it dries it just dusts off.
